Homeslice started off as a street food and after selling out the first night of opening, eventually grew into a popular London restaurant chain that created a warm local atmosphere.

But as the business grew, the website failed to follow. Customers were getting frustrated - they were booking tables at the wrong locations and downloading menus from two years ago, then arriving at the restaurant feeling mislead by the prices and dishes they saw online. And it wasn’t the team’s fault - the website was impossible to update without technical knowledge.

This is when I met Homeslice. I expanded their visual language to reflect their honest roots as a street vendor, and the warmth of their venues. Most pizza restaurants in London either had a maximalist detailing approach or colourful minimal styling. I decided to use black and white reminiscent of chalk board and create an editorial feeling which aligns with the design and fashion scene tha surrounds the venues. I also created a system that makes the site easy to update without any technical knowledge. For example if a staff member uploads a new menu, it updates automatically across the entire site, saving tonnes of time.
